We’re looking for a freelance graphic designer to help create marketing materials that clearly explain and sell what we do. You’ll work closely with our product designer, Sr. Marketing Manager and business development team to shape how we tell our story. We expect there to be about 20 hours of work per week but that could increase.

About this role

  • Create visual assets for blog posts that support the story.
  • Support the expansion of the Overstory brand by contributing to the brand design system.
  • Establish re-usable processes and components that will empower the marketing and sales team to be more responsive.
  • Create and maintain presentations to make them visually appealing, easy to understand and able to tell powerful stories.
  • Communicate and present your work clearly and frequently to teammates.
  • Take full ownership of your work.
  • Communicate about what you think is possible in a defined timeframe and then deliver on it.
  • the sales process by translating a prospect's needs into a demo or MVP product.

About you

You are curious, detail-attentive and you have a client-centric approach. You don’t need to have everything well defined before you act, you’re a self-starter who will make things happen, whether it is putting together an excellent product demo for a prospect or facilitating smooth technical onboarding. You are an excellent communicator and you believe best results are achieved when working together. You have a passion for the urgency of solving our climate crisis.

Requirements

  • A strong portfolio featuring examples of marketing and brand design work.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and visual communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • You’re comfortable iterating and you seek out feedback.
  • You are well-versed in producing assets for both digital and print.
  • You are keen to explore what graphic design means for a geospatial product and to learn more about making maps usable and beautiful.

Nice-to-haves

  • A passion for the urgency of solving our climate crisis.
  • 4+ years of design experience.
  • Experience working on a B2B SaaS product.
  • Experience working at an early-stage startup.
  • You’ve worked with maps / geospatial data. Experience producing static map assets using QGIS is a big bonus as this will be necessary to explain our work.

About our team

We’re a group of 19 people from all over the world (Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, US, France, Russia, Australia). We’re all united behind a big vision to help humanity and the planet. We all work remotely, and occasionally (optionally!) meet for in-person collaboration.

What you get

  • Generous stock options and competitive salary.
  • To be a part of truly mission-driven work that reduces wildfires, protects earth’s natural resources, and reverses climate change.
  • Flexible working environment with a lot of autonomy. We build our work days around our lives, not the other way around.
  • The chance to build something from scratch and put your mark on it. Creating a product that solves real climate-related problems — one that is fast and a joy to use — is the exciting opportunity.
  • To be surrounded by an excellent, vibrant, smart team who have each other's back and believe in a culture of openness, tolerance, and respect.
