We are looking for operators and technicians, especially those with experience at refineries and chemical plants, to run our operations and help develop new technologies. Take your industry knowledge and use it for transitioning to sustainable fuels made from carbon dioxide.

Job Summary

In this position you will help with the construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance of an innovative gas-to-liquids plant in Tucson, AZ. You will work under the direct supervision of the Facilities Supervisor and will report to the Director of Refining Technologies.

This is an hourly, full-time position and will require working some nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Pilot plant construction and commissioning

• Set up pilot plant as per design
• Perform and/or participate in operation and process safety reviews
• Commission systems and sign-off as ready for operation
• Work with process engineers to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Work with 3rd party contractors and vendors

Pilot plant operation

• Operate pilot plant and follow SOPs
• Collect data and maintain data logs

Pilot plant maintenance

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and help keep all systems in working order, including pumps, compressors, valves, instrumentation, reactors
• Help develop maintenance procedures and protocols
• Setup routine maintenance schedule and self-perform where possible
• Schedule specialist maintenance where needed
• Implement lessons learned and create a continuous improvement culture

Support research and development

• Run experiments, gather data, and maintain data logs
• Learn new laboratory skills and techniques and operate independently once trained

General characteristics

• Work over night/weekends/holidays as required
