Description

Cervest is looking for a Head of Product Design to lead our fast growing product design team. You will work alongside the build leadership team to create customer focused products.

As a community lead at Cervest you will be accountable for fostering a sense of community, setting professional standards and driving domain innovation within the Product Design Community. You will also own the strategic workforce planning activities in partnership with the People team and product leadership and ultimately be accountable for the people management and pastoral care of every member of your community.

Main responsibilities

  • Establishing and constantly iterating on the ways of working and best practices for Product Design
  • Leading a team of product designers across Cervest
  • Accountable for Product Design short and long term vision within the business
  • Accountable for design roadmaps across all product verticals
  • Acting as the voice of the community and sharing relevant information with the community when needed
  • Surfacing the views, concerns and ideas of the community to peers and senior leadership where appropriate
  • Provide visibility on higher-level strategic and operational goings-on to the community as appropriate
  • Managing and scaling Product Design team across the business
  • Distributing and managing work traffic across the business
  • Maintaining relationships with other community members and crew members
  • Surfacing operational and/or cultural concerns gathered through regular 1:1’s with appropriate members of the business e.g. people ops, business ops, ops etc
  • Contributing to strategic endeavors as needed by the business e.g. series funding
  • Accountable for the Design System lifecycle and scalability across the business
  • Fostering a culture of innovation and design excellence

Requirements

  • Experience influencing senior leaders within Technology Industry
  • Self starter mentality, with pragmatic approaches to problem solving
  • Strong communication skills — to clearly articulate recommendations and decisions, whether verbal or written
  • Comfortable providing feedback to an array of stakeholders, internal and external, in the organization.
  • Ability and proven track record of leading, managing and scaling teams.
  • A knowledge/experience in Climate, ESG or similar domains is a strong plus
  • Deep knowledge of Data visualization
  • An understanding of Data Art
  • Expert in best design practices
  • Experience working in strategic setting roles
  • Experience in the translation of complex scientific concepts into compelling experiences to support specified product use-cases

We are a remote-first company and are hiring across Europe, the USA and beyond. We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable working in a remote setting and with a diverse team distributed across multiple time zones. This job requires minimum travel for occasional regional or global team retreats only, using more sustainable transport methods (we’ll help with that) so generally within one time zone of the UK.
