At Loam, we have the earth in our hands. Our team of scientists and entrepreneurs is united in a mission to realise the potential of microbes to address climate change.
We are dedicated to developing solutions that boost agricultural productivity and benefit the environment. We are developing soil carbon sequestration technology that uses the power of microbes to remove CO2 from the atmosphere and store it long term in soil. Our approach will help remove gigatonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere while also helping farming businesses prosper.
As a start-up with ambitious founders and investors, our work is fast-paced and multidimensional. We foster a supportive and diverse workplace, where every team member is encouraged to learn and grow beyond their area of expertise.
This is more than just a job — this is our life’s work.
Loam Bio is growing rapidly and in the process of expanding our laboratory footprint in Maine. We are seeking a part-time Lab Technician to assist with all support functions including labelling, cleaning lab dishes, making buffers, and aliquoting samples. This is an entry level position with room for advancement. On the job training can be offered to those without bioproduction lab experience.
As a bioproduction facility, we require above-average attention to detail and the ability to read and understand written technical documents. We expect a high standard of diligent compliance with procedures. Given the lab workflow, the ideal candidate will be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and spend much of the day standing.
This role would suite a General Lab Assistant or a Biotech depending on the educational background of the applicant.
