About the Role

Loam Bio is growing rapidly and in the process of expanding our laboratory footprint in Maine. We are seeking a part-time Lab Technician to assist with all support functions including labelling, cleaning lab dishes, making buffers, and aliquoting samples. This is an entry level position with room for advancement. On the job training can be offered to those without bioproduction lab experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare media and chemical solutions
  • Maintain organization of work area
  • Autoclave equipment and lab consumables
  • Adhere to correct procedures, policies and health/safety guidelines
  • Assist in variety of lab assays

Requirements

As a bioproduction facility, we require above-average attention to detail and the ability to read and understand written technical documents. We expect a high standard of diligent compliance with procedures. Given the lab workflow, the ideal candidate will be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and spend much of the day standing.

This role would suite a General Lab Assistant or a Biotech depending on the educational background of the applicant.
