Boundary Layer Technologies is looking for a suitable candidate to fill a Test Engineering Intern position. This person will be responsible for designing and executing engineering style tests on prototypes developed by Boundary Layer Technologies. This position is on-site in Alameda, CA and is for full-time employment over the summer 2022 period.

Responsibilities

- Develop detailed engineering test plans alongside our engineering team to validate prototypes such as propulsion systems, lift systems, and more. 
- Design a platform to perform the desired test, including structures, sensors, and other equipment/components
- Support construction of the designed test platform
- Perform the designed test with support from the engineering team
- Analyze test data and present results to the engineering team

Desired Skills and Experience

- Currently working towards a BS, MS, or other degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other relevant engineering field. 
- Mechanical design and build experience (including student project team)
- Electrical design and build experience (high voltage systems, sensor implementation)
- Experience in designing and/or performing engineering tests
- Data collection and analysis experience
- Ability to work 40 hours/week in-person at BLT headquarters (Alameda, CA)
