The permit coordinator works in larger Palmetto markets, and provides on the ground support for permit submittals and approvals. This individual is familiar with AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) requirements, and works to ensure quick permit turnaround timelines in their market.

About You!

  • You know the permitting world, and have existing relationships with permitting jurisdictions.
  • You’re detail oriented and can work at a high volume, tracking permit approvals in the Palmetto CRM.
  • You don’t mind time in the car, owning in person submittals across a wide service territory.

Success Defined:

  • Design Complete to Permit Submitted <1 days
  • Permit Submitted to Permit Received <10 days (subject to AHJ conditions)
  • 0 Queue of projects pending the notarized notice of commencement

Strategic/Tactical Responsibilities

  • Manage fulfillment of notice of commencement requirement for all Florida projects by interfacing with homeowners, and supplying correct documentation to County Clerks.
  • Work as boots on the ground resource to submit and pick up permits, acting as the “face of Palmetto” for all permitting jurisdictions and vendors.
  • Ensure queues are managed to Palmetto approved service levels.
  • Ensure Palmetto’s CRM is updated with pertinent information, stage updates, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining an accurate permitting database to ensure accurate design, inspection, licensing and insurance deliverables.
  • Work with internal teams to resolve blocking items to permit submission.
  • Coordinate permitting work with approved permit vendors
  • Coordinate pickup and drop of permits, where needed, with approved permit vendors and courier services.
  • Assist in process and SOP improvement recommendations

Reports To:

  • Permit Team Lead

Required Background and Skills

  • Solar field experience with a focus on permit and inspection operational deliverables.
  • BA/BS in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Florida Notary Public Certification
