About the role

Ark is seeking an Automation Solution Architect with industrial automation experience in a manufacturing environment. The Solution Architect will play a leading role in developing Ark’s novel bioreactor automation solution that natively incorporates Industry 4.0 standards.

You will bring the strategic vision and technical know-how to develop the enabling control hardware, software, and IoT connectivity supporting Ark’s production and scalability. The Automation Solution Architect will lead with strategic thinking and systems-level problem solving skills in order to execute optimal manufacturing 4.0 system solution designs, incorporating new technologies and digital infrastructure.

The position entails working with a multidisciplinary team as part of a new product development cycle, which includes developing concepts and taking them from initial design and prototyping through commercialization.

Key responsibilities
- Develop target architecture, technical guidelines, and governance for a scalable next-generation automation platform
- Build and lead Ark’s automation team 
- Adhere to the relevant safety, documentation, and quality standards

About you

- 5+ years of experience with architectural work (Leading role as a systems integrator, etc.), delivering documentation for both decision-makers and developers
- Comfortable translating business needs into specialized and interdisciplinary digital competencies
- Experience with IoT, machine learning and Edge software platforms.
- Experience implementing IoT solutions and working with Industrial Automation platforms, PLC hardware (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Process Historians
- Proficiency in Industrial Networks Communication media and protocols
- Strong leadership skills, including ability to provide direction, motivation and feedback to employees
- MS or BS in engineering, automation or other relevant fields
