Position Description

The Chief of Staff will be responsible for directly supporting the CEO in corporate strategy, planning, fundraising, management, metrics, and other work to deliver the mission of Fervo Energy. This position will play a key role in setting Fervo’s annual and multi-year strategies, interacting with key internal and external stakeholders, measuring key performance and metrics of the organization, and executing special projects. In addition, the Chief of Staff will interface with Fervo Executive team to integrate work across our engineering, R&D, strategy, finance, and business development functions. The Chief of Staff will report to the CEO.

Essential Functions

• Collaborating with executive team members to determine and prioritize business strategies
• Support the CEO in preparation for corporate meetings and meetings with key external stakeholders, including customers, policy makers, strategic partners, and financiers.
• Strategize, develop, and track key performance metrics for the organization to inform status and future opportunities.
• Coordinate across the organization with communications to create alignment between the different functions.
• Proactively address business needs that require immediate attention.
• Identify and lead initiatives to explore new business opportunities and geographies.
• Support the CEO with preparation of reporting documents and communications including Board presentations

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field
• Required: 2+ years of work experience in management consulting, investment banking, or equivalent position
• Required: Passion for climate change, the energy transition, and desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment
• Required: Experience in communications development, including preparation of corporate presentations for internal or external audiences
• Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong written communication skills

Fervo Energy has principal offices in Houston and Oakland. This preferred location for this position is Houston, but alternatives may be considered.
