Position Overview
This position will provide comprehensive expediting support to Proterra’s Greenville Materials Director and other site leadership team members. You will be responsible and accountable for coordinating the material requirements planning in support of production schedules for existing and new product, and design changes. This position will minimize raw material inventories while reducing purchasing costs, maximizing customer service and collaborating heavily with internal and external customer community, including vendors, manufacturing, engineering, service, quality control and quality assurance. This position will report to the Site Materials Director and collaborate with other Supply Chain team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and other manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, CA.
About the Role – You Will:
- Analyze forecast, actual demand, schedules and inventory and exercise judgement to influence manufacturing and buying decisions.
- Determine material requirements from the manufacturing production schedules, engineering, validation and process development studies. Manage inventory by determining and maintaining optimum quantity and cost levels.
- Review and analyze weekly raw material, components and finished goods requirements to meet specific schedules.
- Review, prioritize, schedule and expedite the delivery of material components to meet target dates and prevent stock shortages. Raise order fulfillment issues to management and key customers to propose mitigation strategies on a routine (daily/weekly) basis.
- Review and modify purchase orders as needed for procurement through approved/qualified suppliers for raw materials and components.
- Provide management control information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends. Produce material planning inventory reports and presentations as required.
- Resolve unclear packing slips, invoices and memorandums to insure prompt availability of material and timely payments to vendors.

Your Experience Includes
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle is a plus)
- Ability to apply knowledge of purchasing principles including but not limited to the following: research, analyze, negotiate and close various types of purchase efforts within the guidelines of good business and ethical practices.
- Report writing and system configuration management expertise.
- MBA or advanced degree, not required but preferred.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment, not required but preferred.
