AMPLY is seeking a Field Service Manager to support commissioning, operations, and service activities of our managed fleet charging portfolio. In this role, you will work with stakeholders across the organization as well as key external partners to support regional field service activities.

The ideal candidate has an aptitude for logical problem solving and comprehends electrical & technical systems concepts. The Field Service Technician within Energy & Charging will cover the entire charging network resolving using a combination of tools and software. They should take an analytical approach to troubleshooting technical issues, be detail oriented and organized, and have the ability to work independently. Must be comfortable with frequent travel and working outdoors. Most importantly, have a passion for learning & growth.

This is a full-time paid position based at our HQ office in Mountain View, CA (hybrid office culture, local applicants only).

Responsibilities

• Commission vehicle charging stations, evaluating the installation, configuration, and operation of individual components and integrated systems.
• Work collaboratively with the operations and engineering teams to understand the system and installation requirements
• Respond to corrective maintenance dispatches on EVSE, commercial solar PV, and energy storage systems.
• Documentation of all service activities in clear, concise detail
• Generate, update, track, and complete Field Service Dispatches (FSDs) within Amply’s service tracking system

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• 3+ years’ equivalent experience in servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy field and/or formal electrical training
• Strong electrical, electronic, and network troubleshooting skills. Technical knowledge EV chargers, solar power installations, or other applicable power electronics is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to adhere to or exceed required OSHA safety certifications and requirements
• Familiarity related to EVSE or renewable energy systems is preferred
• Proficient working with spreadsheets, word processing, and computer-based applications (e.g. time tracking, case management, etc.)
• Proficient understanding of utility distribution systems and local site electrical infrastructure
• You thrive in fast-paced, informal, team-focused environment where constant change is the norm and the bar for quality is set high
