Role Description

Running Tide is seeking a versatile, driven, flexible production manager / supervisor to manage and oversee our Iceland-based production operations. The production manager will work closely with the global operations team to deliver ready-to-deploy carbon removal systems.

You will be responsible for a budget, team, and making decisions and recommendations on best ways to reach our goals. Working with contractors, leasing or buying equipment, setting up, amending and improving production lines, and much more. You will be expected to manage shifts of workers, manage relationships with vendors, and make sure that our operations remain within budget.

You Will:

- Consistently meet production goals and continuously improve system efficiency
- Report on production goals, throughput, bottlenecks
- Hire, retain, train and manage the team necessary to deliver, which will be a mix of in-house talent, temporary workers, and contractors
- Find contractors and vendors to partner with, and managing those relationships
- Forecast and keep equipment maintenance schedules.
- Keep our operations within budget
- Optimize our system by partnering with the global operations team to define and implement improvements
- Keep a constantly safe and healthy work environment
- Implement and improve safety protocols and processes

You Are (or You Have):

- Experience managing large industrial and/or construction projects
- Experience managing people and a budget
- A background in a craft and know your way around heavy machinery
- Able to operate in a fast changing environment
- Creative and can figure out ways to get the thing done, even though it isn’t perfect
- A desire to do your part in helping fight the climate crisis
- Proficiency in English and preferably also Icelandic
