Kevala is seeking a senior technical expert and business leader to join our Professional and Advisory Services (PAS) team as the Lead on the Analytics team. As a Lead on the Analytics team, you will be responsible for leading analytics to support client-focused project delivery and supporting the implementation of new product capabilities in SaaS-based services. This role involves both leading the delivery of analytics to support client focus projects and coordinating with the teams responsible for developing and implementing state-of-the-art data analytics.

Key activities will include

- Serve as subject matter expert related to utility operations and supporting data, regulatory policies, and energy company business planning.
- Support actionable insights related to utility analytics to clients, such as impacts on customer behavior, revenues and cost recovery, load and Distributed Energy Resources forecasts, and utility program and pricing costs and benefits.
- Supporting creation of detailed data requirements, developing and meeting data delivery on milestone dates, managing data systems resources and teams effectively, managing risks and dependencies;
- Working with internal professional & advisory, data science and engineering teams to establish data framing and methodological requirements in support of projects with significant and varied methods and related data requirements;
- Support business development by providing consulting services to move customers through the sales funnel by leading meaningful customer engagement and translating client needs into internal development requirements and deliverables.
- Continue to scale and build processes to improve delivery and coordinate staffing of project teams.

What you need to succeed

- 8+ years of experience supporting and performing utility analytics related to rate case filings, such as cost of service, cost allocation, and cost recovery mechanisms.
- Experience managing the quality and validation of large complex data sets (e.g., AMI and SCADA time series data, GIS and other locational or relational data sets) for client and/or research engagements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of energy utility, market, time-series, and socioeconomic data and their application to the transmission and distribution grid.
- Direct experience presenting complex analytical results to executives, regulators, and other data stakeholders.
- Experience supporting and coordinating work with cross-functional project teams.
- Effective and flexible communication skills that adapt to audiences of varied technical backgrounds, including individuals in leadership positions within large organizations.

What will make you stand out

- Demonstrated expertise in the application of utility data, including the ability to identify proper algorithms for data cleaning such as appropriate outlier detection parameters.
- Experience identifying data anomalies versus true data diversions, screening data for reasonable patterns, and tracking the root cause of data deviations.
- Experience interacting with software development, engineering, and data science teams.
- Experience working with utilities or energy regulatory or research agencies.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Demonstrated experience in building, applying, and teaching utility analytics and modeling

Location
We are headquartered in San Francisco, but we embrace the virtual office and are continuing to grow our team across the United States.

Salary Range
$120,000-$150,000 (depending on location and experience)
