Role Description

About the Role – You will:

  • Develop the master production plan for battery packs and ancillary items for OEM’s observing the manufacturing constraints and takt times.
  • Level-load production to maintain steady flow of work orders to drive the materials picking process and manufacturing execution
  • Own communication and alignment with all key stakeholders to ensure the production plan is supported. This involves reviewing the plan and all potential inhibitors to achieving it: materials, capacity, equipment uptime / reliability, planned maintenance, etc.
  • Maintaining strong collaboration and communication with the Customer Programs Management team to understand, coordinate, approve and integrate customer requests for changes in the build schedule as well as providing information about the status of orders.
  • Operate and maintain the systems tools that support the Master Production Schedule, Build Plan, Daily Operations Tracking, Weekly Executive Summary of status and performance among other metrics and reports.
  • Determine ability to meet requested customer dates based on capacity, cycle time and inventory.
  • Ensure forecast is accurate in MRP for the portfolio of parts that you manage.
  • Develop Inventory optimization plans and policies.
  • Determine and plan for appropriate safety stock levels to de-risk production planned.

  • This position will be part of the Greenville based Supply Chain team that supports Proterra’s Manufacturing and Engineering operations.
  • You will report to the **Manager, Production Planning & Production Control **and will collaborate with other Supply Chain team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles, CA, Greer, SC and Greenville, SC.

About You:

  • Self-starter with the ability to adapt interpersonal styles and techniques to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Represent organization as a prime contact for production planning. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

  • Detail-oriented, resourceful and diligent.
  • Results-driven and assertive with strong analytical skills and excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.

Your Experience Includes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management or other related fields or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Operations and Material Planning
  • Understand the processes used to develop Sales and Operations plans
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Prior experience with ERP, MRP, and MES systems
  • Effective structuring and use of Bill of Material, and critical data planning elements
  • Best-in-class techniques and practices of production planning, inventory management, including inventory levels of sub-assemblies
  • Experienced user of ERP systems

You might also have:

  • Automotive industry experience
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP)
  • Oracle experience
  • Working knowledge of Excel - Power Pivot and VBA
