Role Description

Sentient Energy is looking for a strong candidate to fill a Project Manager position in our Customer Operations organization. This role will be responsible for the project scope, planning, management and delivery of customer projects for our energy sensing hardware and software products and solutions. The Project Manager will engage across the Sentient Energy organization along with the customer to coordinate, design and plan the required project to meet the objectives defined by Sentient Energy and the Customer. Projects will include physical network design, communications system architecture, software configuration and integration, hardware configuration, shipping, deployment and commissioning.  **This position is open to remote work. **

What You Will Do In Your Role

The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to the project scope, timeline and budget agreed to and contracted with the customer. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle, starting with the project proposal process during the sales effort. Specific functions include:

  • Define and document project scope, goals and deliverables that support customer contract requirements in collaboration with customer stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Develop project scope, project tasks, staffing and budgets necessary to deliver the project per contract terms.
  • Determine and assess need for additional project staff and/or consultants as needed through the project lifecycle.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with Sentient Energy management and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Manage the overall quality expectation of the delivered solution

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT project management, delivery management, field deployment management or solution management role
  • Experience working across organizations and geographies with experience interacting, influencing, and negotiating effectively across all levels of management
  • Experience with hardware, communications, and integrated software solutions
  • Experience with business management skills to include qualitative and quantitative analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with project management software

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree (i.e. Computer Science or Information Systems).
  • PMP certification
  • Experience with on-premise software integration and cloud services from AWS, Azure.
  • Technical understanding of overall electric operations systems, including electric power systems, distribution automation, and distributed control systems and communications.
  • Experience working in the Utility Industry with Utility Metering or Field Device Management and related software
  • Experience with project management software Microsoft Project or Atlassian (Jira & Confluence) collaboration toolsThis position is not eligible for VISA sponsorship.

The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. For this role, we anticipate paying $90,000 - $110,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
