Headquartered in Berkeley, CA, Bellwether Coffee is a venture-backed, high-growth tech company working hard to positively transform the coffee industry: making it more accessible and sustainable for our planet and our communities. We’re a diverse team of coffee industry veterans, entrepreneurs, engineers, technicians, human-centered designers, and people-focused rule-breakers who have a passion for making the “impossible” a reality.
Our revolutionary zero-emissions, electric commercial coffee roaster uses clean technology and does not require gas lines or expensive ventilation. It’s the most consistent and controllable roaster available, the lowest carbon footprint commercial roaster ever made, and was designed by coffee people who want a better future for coffee roasting. Our roasting platform allows Bellwether customers to easily and responsibly source green coffee from incredible coffee farms around the world, expertly roast using artisan-crafted roast profiles (or create their own), and share fresh, delicious coffee just the way their customers like it.
This role will be responsible for the daily roasting production of coffee for the Emergency Coffee Program, Fresh Roasted Coffee Program as well as samples and other roasted production needs that may arise. Other responsibilities will include bagging, shipping, maintaining roast logs and equipment as needed. The Roasted Coffee Production Manager will supervise this person and the role will require interfacing and coordinating with other members of the Coffee Team as well as other cross-functional teams.
Successful coordinators will be able to roast and fill orders in a timely and efficient manner to meet the demands of our production schedule. They will also be required to assist in process improvements implemented by the Roasted Coffee Production Manager.
A good candidate will have strong organizational skills as well as good interpersonal communication skills. Some roasting experience is ideal though not necessary. Ideally a candidate would have some production, shipping, manufacturing and/or warehouse fulfillment experience. Someone well suited to this role will also be able to pivot quickly as the needs of the program and organization change as well as being process improvement oriented.
This role is perfect for people who like teams, a fast-paced work environment, and creative problem solving.
