Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Shipping and Receiving Lead is a key contributor to the operations team with the primary focus of ensuring shipments to and from the plant are handled timely, efficiently, and in an organized manner. This is achieved through learning and understanding the CleanFiber’s logistics, vendors, and quality control processes

In this job, you will:

  • Will be a key member of shift team who is the most knowledgeable about CleanFiber’s shipping and receiving policies and procedures.
  • Manage the outgoing shipments of products and materials to vendors through coordination and cooperation with logistics and QC departments.
  • Ensure all incoming shipments get offloaded into the plant and work with the production team to understand existing material flow within the plant and help to create an efficient storage of goods received.
  • Collaborate with production, logistics and quality control on current and future processes and suggest workflow changes when appropriate.
  • Serve as a safety role model on the floor when it comes to all production practices, but specifically related to forklift operation, material handling and truck loading/unloading practices.
  • Support the deployment and training of new equipment/software to the manufacturing floor.
  • Give direction to additional resources as assigned to manage shipping and receiving volumes as the plant continues to increase production.
  • Responsible for training of associates on policies and procedures that support shipping and receiving responsibilities.
  • Responsible for ensuring all paperwork (BOL’s, invoices, receipts) are accounted for as loads arrive and leave the plant.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The right candidate will bring experience in these areas:

  • **Communication: **Must have good oral communication skills and must be able to understand inventory/storage levels and communicate quickly and effectively based on current shipping/receiving conditions
  • **Plant Startup: **We seek an individual who has been a part of a growing shipping/receiving department that had to juggle multiple priorities
  • **Procedure Development and Training: **The Shipping and Receiving Lead will have previous successful experience in troubleshooting issues around load management, scheduling, and product loading/unloading
  • **Experience Across a Range of Scales and Vantage Points: **We are looking for a candidate who is familiar with the high paced environment of a disruptive startup but can understand the mindset of large and small counterparts and suppliers who are grinding out pennies in mature industries and can help us with operational efficiencies as we mature.
  • **Hands on DNA: **Partnering with the CleanFiber team on the floor will come naturally to the candidate.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma (Associates Degree or certification program preferred)
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training
  • Experience in logistics, warehouse leadership roles and/or
  • Experience using a forklift
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Experience with NetSuite software preferred

Experience:

  • Warehouse experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Warehouse & Distribution Center Supervisors: 1 year (Preferred)
