Role Description

About Normative

Any company would say its employees are smart, capable, and fun to work with – and our employees certainly are! But we’re also driven by an unshakable sense of purpose, an urgency to act, and the motivation to devote our talents and energy to fighting the planet’s most important fight.

At Normative we are creating the norm for carbon accounting by providing intelligence to companies to reduce their climate footprint. We translate financial data into tangible carbon insights enabling companies to understand and reduce their carbon emission. What we do has a real positive impact on the climate. You can too!

The Role

As our first dedicated Solutions Engineer, you will be the technical expert who owns integrations and data exchange workflows between customers, partners and Normative so that they can smoothly calculate their carbon footprint.

You will be working closely with technical counterparts outside of Normative (from pre-sales discussions to the implementation of data upload processes), our Sales, Product and Engineering teams and other functions within Normative. Together with our customers and partners, you will be mapping out complex setups of ERP, accounting and procurement systems like SAP, Navision or Netsuite and figuring out how to best connect two worlds that don’t always want to fit together.

As we are building out our offering of APIs, data connectors and other connectivity options you will be working closely with our Product teams to share learnings, customer and industry insights, participate in workshops and test and roll out new solutions to our customers and partners.

Your performance will have a direct impact on both the effectiveness of our sales team and the direction and scalability of our product. And as our first dedicated colleague working in this space, you will be able to significantly shape our industry’s integration landscape and the Solutions Engineering function at Normative. Our shared goal is to create first in class data connectivity options which allow our customers to spend as little time as possible on data handling and instead focus on what really matters: moving towards net zero emissions.

The Solutions Engineer we are looking for enjoys and thrives in scale-up tech companies and is excited about being part of building and utilizing this kind of infrastructure for our customers and partners - and ultimately our planet.

What you will do

  • Work closely with our Sales team in pre-sales discussions and procurement processes - you are our technical expert for data exchange and integrations
  • Drive work and discussions to find the best solutions for connecting complex customer and partner system setups with Normative and smoothly transferring data based on available connectivity options
  • Serve as the technical owner and main point of contact for system integrations
  • Create technical documentation and guides to make the integration process as smooth and self-service as possible for our customers, partners and internal teams
  • Identify common patterns and needs from customer and partner discussions and work closely with our Product teams as we continue to build and develop our offering of connectivity options
  • Participate in cross-functional Product Discovery work and help with prototyping, testing and rollout of new connectivity solutions

We think you will be a good match if

  • You have worked in a comparable position before - as a Solutions Engineer, Integration Manager, Partner Engineer, Technical Account Manager or similar
  • You combine technical expertise with a highly customer centric mindset. You don’t need coding skills, but you should have a detailed technical understanding of a wide range of technologies, especially how to work with APIs, data connectors and data exchange with ERP, accounting and procurement systems
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and creative when it comes to finding the right solution for connecting our customers to Normative’s connectivity products while making sure those solutions are scalable and maintainable over time
  • You are a great communicator and manage to effectively explain and tailor complex technical topics to different internal and external audiences - primarily in English, additional languages are a plus
  • You have experience running data queries, building analytics dashboards and troubleshooting technical integrations
  • You work in a structured way and enjoy managing several integration projects in different stages at a time without dropping a ball
  • You are a curious go-getter. You can inspire change, adapt quickly and enjoy a dynamic and constantly evolving environment

We also believe you are

  • A person that deeply cares about making a real contribution towards a sustainable future.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and small team where we help one another
