Position Overview
This position will provide support to Proterra’s Sr. Manager, Technical Accounting, and perform activities related to revenue and participate in special projects within the Accounting and Finance Department. In addition to providing support for revenue recognition process, our next team member will be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures, ensures SOX compliance is in place, identifies, resolves and documents accounting issues and creates review processes to ensure more efficient and accurate financial reporting. The position is based in our Burlingame or City of Industry, California or Greenville, South Carolina location. About the Role – You will:
- Perform contract reviews and prepare review checklists.
- Perform reconciliations of revenue related accounts as part of the month end close process.
- Provide support to order management, billing, and revenue recognition process.
- Prepare supporting information for revenue related disclosures in financial statements.
- Provide supports to SOX compliance.
- Remain current with new technical accounting standards, particularly those that impact revenue recognition and financial reporting.
- Interface effectively with numerous individuals both inside and outside the Company, including the external auditors, to assist addressing and resolving accounting and reporting issues.
- Participate other ad hoc projects such as technical accounting research, and other projects within finance and accounting function.

- This position will be part of the Finance and Accounting team that supports Proterra’s Sales, Manufacturing operations, and management team.
- You will report to the Sr. Manager, Technical Accounting and collaborate with other Finance and Accounting team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles, CA and Greenville, SC.

Your Experience Includes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent
- Four (4) plus years of experience in ASC 606 customer contract review or equivalent
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and time manage with great attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
- Critical thinker with attention to detail who can seek solutions to complex accounting and reporting issues
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Oracle experience is a plus
- Public accounting experience is a plus
