The BOB Farm Operations team is building out its outdoor algae farm, and we are seeking an experienced technician who will perform a variety of tasks relating to daily operations, maintenance, and buildout of our aquaculture facility in Kailua-Kona, HI. This will include constructing air and water systems, assembling aquaculture tanks, maintaining equipment, and driving a non-CDL company truck to suppliers for material pickup.

Critical to our success is a team member who is, firstly, skilled in the art and practice of building and maintaining tank-based aquaculture systems, but who is also able to take on expansive and evolving responsibilities.

Required knowledge and hands-on experience includes some combination of the following:

- Fabrication and installation of various types of plumbing installation and layout from plans, sketches, or verbal instruction
- Power tool use and safety 
- Basic construction practices and techniques in wood, plastic, and fiberglass
- Willingness to learn and abide by biosecurity best-practices and protocols

Desired but not required experience includes:

- Fabrication and installation of various types and sizes of aquaculture tankage
- Plumbing installation and layout in an aquaculture setting (fresh and saltwater, air delivery)
- Pumping and filtration systems for water and air as well as maintenance of these systems commonly found in an aquaculture setting
- Lighting systems including LEDs
- Water heating and controls
- Forklift and excavator operation

Experience and Abilities

- 2+ years hands-on working experience as a handyman, carpenter, plumber, facilities manager, or electrician 
- Demonstrated ability in learning new technologies and troubleshooting with heavy machinery
- Excellent driving record
- Ability to work in a wet/humid environment, inside and outside during all seasons
- Ability to occasionally lift over 50 lbs
- Schedule will include weekends, with 2 days off of your choice
- Experience working with AutoCAD / SketchUp desired but not required

Compensation and Benefits

- Competitive compensation dependent on level of experience, with overtime
- Full health, vision, and dental coverage, covering 100% of insurance premium for employee and 50% for dependents
- Opportunity to participate in employee stock option plan, sharing in ownership of the company
- Starting rate of pay is $[17.50](http://17.0.0.50/) per hour.
