About River

River is an electric vehicle startup building multi-utility scooters. The company builds products ground up with a strong focus on design and engineering. Currently, the company is in the product development stage with prototypes being tested on the road. The vehicle will go on sale on Sep-22. River is backed by marquee international investors - Israel based Maniv mobility and US based Trucks VC. These are mobility focused funds backed by some of the big names in the automotive industry. River is founded by experienced automotive professionals - Vipin George is ex-Lead Designer at Honda, Ultraviolette and Aravind Mani is ex-VP at Ultraviolette, an EV startup backed by TVS Motors. River is a fast growing company with an R&D team of 60 engineers now. The company targets to be 250-300 employees by the end of 2022.

Requirement:

1. Electrochemical modelling experience on lithium ion or lithium polymer battery using software such as GT-Autolion, COMSOL Multiphysics and/or other battery simulators/solvers. 3+ years is preferred.
2. Excellent knowledge of capacity fade and cell impedance growth mechanisms
3. Working knowledge of MATLAB, VBA, Python, etc, to extract information from large data
4. Familiarity with applicable test equipment, test procedures, international standards, and certified agency requirements applicable to rechargeable lithium battery products
5. Familiarity with current production processes applicable to lithium rechargeable cells
6. Strong proficiency in electrochemical engineering and mathematical modelling.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Equivalent circuit modelling for Lithium-ion cells/batteries using Simulink and developing high fidelity physical/electrochemical battery models
2. Develop and calibrate battery models using cell characterization and cell material properties in Simulink and GT-Autolion.
3. Define test cases to be performed for cells and the measurement setup required for it
4. Work in integrating the battery model to the complete vehicle model.
