The ideal candidate will have strong Automotive OEM fleet industry customer relationships, familiarity with a variety of problems and business solutions in the fleet industry, and the ability to present sophisticated technologies and related business value propositions. Ultimately we are looking for someone who is intimately plugged into the market, the ability to analyze the market and create repeatable business solutions. As the Business Development Manager – OEM Partnerships, you’ll be working with some of the industry’s brightest minds to create additional business lines for OEMs around EV charging and energy services including tight technology integrations, to make the next generation of fleet electrification become a reality.

This is a full-time position based at our HQ office in Mountain View, CA reporting to the Director of OEM Partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential strategic technology partnerships in mobility and adjacent spaces and begin to build the landscaping and strategic roadmap for target industries and opportunities.
  • Develop/obtain/maintain the technical and business industry knowledge necessary to effectively function and perform as an expert consultant in our clients’ business environment.
  • Collaborate with clients and AMPLY team members to build visions, develop supporting business cases, validate requirements, ensure solutions can be adopted and supported, and manage solution implementation.
  • Relationship building and developing channel programs to Partner’s Sales, Marketing and Executive teams; nurture long term collaborative channel partnership
  • Track activities through salesforce, interacting with Sales and Sales Op’s team
  • Assist with product development efforts by gathering feedback and project specifications to advise the engineering team.
  • Prepare and present technical solutions to client audiences, large groups, and conferences.
  • Utilize knowledge of commercial fleet industry operations, business management, and the digital and IoT market landscape to identify large-scale, business-impacting challenges that can be addressed by AMPLY.
  • Influence development teams to implement new technologies, approaches, optimizations or methodologies as needed to meet client requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive technologies or internet companies, specialized in corporate development, business development, sales or partnership models
  • Proven knowledge, expertise, and passion for business development, innovation, technology, and electric vehicles
  • Ability to work on multiple opportunities simultaneously
  • Strong track record of developing strategic and channel partnerships
  • Top-notch planning, scheduling, problem-solving skills
  • Results-oriented with demonstrated ability to sell, negotiate and close successfully
  • Must have a solid understanding of electric vehicles and EV charging infrastructure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated and passionate about business development, sales, and working with partners and customers

Preferred

  • MBA is preferred
  • A genuine fascination for electric vehicles and a commitment to global change
  • Strong familiarity with the automotive or consumer electronics industry
  • Energy experience is a plus

AMPLY is redefining the EV charging market for private and public fleets, including autonomous driving fleets, transit bus agencies, municipal, and private fleets. We are building the next level of charging as a service, taking complete ownership and control of the charging infrastructure, the scheduling of the vehicles, the cloud platform, and the utility meter – in order to provide the highest availability and resilience in the market. In this way, we will accelerate the adoption of electric-powered fleets by optimizing the delivery of power and making refueling seamless and efficient. In a high-powered application like vehicle fast charging, the difference between controlled, optimally balanced vs unrestrained EV charging could be 3x in cost from your local utility. Even more importantly, EV fleets, in particular when part of critical and close to real-time business processes (for example in autonomous fleets) need to be scheduled for charging in specific time intervals. By taking control of the utility meter, optimizing EV charge rate and vehicle process flow, AMPLY provides the lowest cost of electric fueling possible in a given depot location or in-route stops. Our approach is to offer charging as a service, which is unique in the industry. We offer our customers a per mile driven usage rate. AMPLY provides the bulk of the upfront capital expenditures associated with the charging platform.
