Pledge makes it simple for businesses of every size to understand and manage the climate impact of their products. By providing tools and infrastructure, we automate the delivery of climate solutions - such as footprint measurement, reduction and offsetting - into customer journeys.

We're on a mission to make businesses climate aware and help accelerate their transition to net zero. Pledge was founded in 2021 by early employees of Revolut and the co-founder of Freetrade.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Drive Pledge’s climate efforts, from developing key product requirements to engaging with relevant industry stakeholders and positioning the Company as a sustainability thought leader whilst being a trusted advisor to customers on their net zero journey.

Pledge works with B2B customers across a range of sectors including logistics, travel, e-commerce, amongst others. The role will entail building a deep understanding of our business and our customers’ needs in order to build products that people will love to use and will contribute to the success of the business and the mission.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Engage with relevant stakeholders, including regulators, international organisations and customers to advise on best-in class sustainability practices to measure, reduce and offset GHG emissions and become a trusted industry standard
• Use your climate expertise to collaborate with the Pledge team supporting on product development across carbon accounting, offsetting and reporting.
• Support content creation to position Pledge as a thought leader in the space
• Work with our carbon partnerships team to source new projects to onboard onto the platform, identify pain points developers face and design processes to make collaboration and their work more efficient
• Combine a deep knowledge of voluntary carbon offsetting market including natural and technological carbon removals, to help customers on their net zero journeys
• Obtain and manage relevant certifications and norms for Pledge and its products

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 5 to 10 years of experience in the sustainability space with a specific focus on climate (as an investor, operator, accountant or equivalent)
• Educational background in environmental sciences (or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of global regulations, policy and standards for sustainability, carbon accounting and reporting
• Experience in environmental accounting or modelling (e.g. LCA, EEIOA and/ or other environmental quantification process ) and familiarity with key regulatory reporting requirements and standards (e.g. GHG protocol, CDP, GRI, TCFD or SASB)
• Experience in defining and implementing sustainability programs at a company with proven success as well as leading a carbon offsetting program
• Experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally high growth startup experience
• Ideally, you have an established network in the space with connections to peers at other companies, regulators and other public bodies as well as relevant international organisations
