Role Description

About the Role – You Will:

  • Lead discussions with customers and partners in order to assess customer problems
  • Develop and manage a product roadmap based on customer and partner input, market needs, and Proterra strategic objectives. Continuously validate assumptions and hypotheses to ensure the right product is being built.
  • Write product requirements / user stories to prepare items planned on the roadmap are defined for developers.
  • Participate in Agile / SCRUM ceremonies as Product Owner and represent the voice of the customer throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and partners to ensure the end-to-end value proposition of your product is delivered in the context of customer projects. May include occasional sales demonstration, training session and/or collaboration with delivery and field service team to ensure features are working as expected at customer sites.
  • Participate in discussions with internal and external data analysts and data scientists looking to understand the performance of electric fleets and the charging infrastructure needed to support them.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management

  • You will report to the Director, Product Managementand collaborate with other Product Management team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and other manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles, CA and Greenville, SC.

About You

  • Customer-focused attitude, with experience working with external partners implementing enterprise product integrations
  • Comfortable interpreting technical solutions to understand their functional impact on customer requirements
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology
  • Willingness to work with remote teams across different time zones
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

Your Experience Includes

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software-as-a-service product management, preferably in products focused in energy or Internet of Things
  • Familiarity with data analytics, working with data generated by connected devices, and data science technologies
  • Experience with electric vehicles and EV fleets preferred.
  • Experience meeting with customers and partners to understand customer requirements and translating them into functional requirements for software engineering teams
  • Ability to travel occasionally
