About the role
Our team is looking for an exceptional and experienced Grower Communications and Extension Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, and working closely with Loam's growers and product management team. This role will be responsible for the professional delivery of grower facing communications and extension activities, such as webinars, events, field days and newsletters. We are seeking an exceptional storyteller, with strong communication, project management and presentation skills to grow Loam Bio's reputation within the Agricultural sector and help drive product education and adoption.
- Responsible for writing, editing, producing or coordinating content to increase product adoption and grower engagement
- Responsible for coordinating a schedule of content across owned and shared channels
- Responsible for coordinating extension events, webinars and activities aligned to the Grower recruitment and adoption program
- Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key extension providers and developing communication activities to encourage grower participation at regional extension events and activities.
- Responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and analysing grower satisfaction and providing regular performance reporting on all communications and event activities
- Identify and propose responses to grower questions, constraints and opportunities on a product basis, which may be addressed through Communications, extension events and activities.
- Ensure Extension Provider contracts are approved, in budget and timely. Monitor contracts to ensure projects / events are delivered as per agreed milestones.
- Support the development of corporate communications and reporting as required.
Regionally located in Orange, NSW or ability to regularly travel to the Orange region
Requirements
- Demonstrated minimum 5 years of related industry experience in an Agricultural Communications or extension role in a competitive environment.
- Demonstrated experience or ability to work with grain growers & their advisers, and an understanding of farming systems in Australia
- Highly developed presentation, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence, motivate and develop others.
- Extensive demonstrated experience copywriting, editing and producing compelling stories and content
- Demonstrated experience building engaged social media communities through a content-first approach
- An ability to work flexibly in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to synthesise complex scientific information and develop compelling communications
- Demonstrated commitment to continuously update necessary skills and knowledge as required for this role.
- Solid understanding of project management principles
- Working knowledge of design, photo and video-editing software (such as Canva) is an asset
- Outstanding organisational and project management skills
- BA / BCom in public relations, communications, jounalism or relevant field
