Job Description:
Lilac Solutions has a need for a Controls System Engineer in our Bead Division Project Engineering group. The preferred candidate will have at least 3 years related experience, including planning, specification, and implementation of engineering design projects. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Develop process controls execution strategies in conjunction with overall project team
- Author, check or approve specifications of process control equipment including control valves, relief valves, flow measurement devices, process instrumentation, analytical systems, and DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems
- Identify and manage process controls technical risk items
- Review Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and author SIL verifications
- Lead Control System Design reviews
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing of Process Automation equipment (DCS, Analyzers, PDC)
- Complete instrument index, instrument data sheets, and all instrument drawings.
- Participate in plant commissioning and startups.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- At least 3 years' experience in related field
- Experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Experience with Emerson DeltaV control systems
- Experience with electrical/hardware design using AutoCAD (or similar)
- Experience commissioning projects
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in controls engineering
- Material Handling experience/automation experience
- Experience with robotics automation
- Experience working on large-scale projects from start to finish
- Superior communication skills
- Experience working in a cross functional engineering team
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection on a periodic basis
- Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
- Can travel to sites across the Western US
