Role Description

SPAN develops innovative technologies that support an electrified future and give homeowners unprecedented levels of control over their home energy usage.

The SPAN Panel—our flagship product—is a “smart” replacement for the 100-year-old electrical panel found in most homes, allowing for circuit-level monitoring and control from any iOS or Android device. When combined with solar and battery storage, our panel offers the best home backup solution available on the market.

SPAN Drive—our newest accessory—is the fastest universal EV charger currently available and a monumental achievement in the residential tech space.

We’re seeking a motivated and talented Home Advisor to qualify and manage customer leads. As an important member of our fast-growing sales team, you will play a key role in accelerating revenue generation and architecting scale for an exciting, category-defining brand.

The Role

SPAN is looking for a strategic, analytical, and creative marketing lead to own our digital experience marketing growth in three ways:

  1. eCommerce including lead generation conversion, website traffic and content, online acquisition experience and merchandising to attract targeted personas and convert them to SPAN customers in an experience that is as delightful as our user experience of our products
  2. Referral program manager to create an all-new referral/loyalty program that harnesses SPAN’s highly devoted customers into our brand’s best advocates. This is increasingly important as we expand our product roadmap and should create stronger lifelong relationships with our best customers, new relationships with customers that may not have interacted with SPAN before, and content creators who will proactively share more about our brand and products
  3. Lifecycle marketing to own education from lead to opportunity, to converted customer, to installed customer. This will include an understanding of all possible customer types (D2C and B2B channels), divergent journeys and where we should reinforce information that helps prospects understand our product value, and dropoffs where prospects need to be nurtured and reactivated into re-engaging with SPAN towards their purchase.

You will be hands on the keyboard in Salesforce/Pardot/Webflow/Google Analytics and more to create and optimize SPAN’s multi-channel acquisition experiences. You will work collaboratively with the SPAN Creative Shop team to create and implement experiences that both wow and are performant. This is a highly cross-functional role in a rapidly growing early stage company with partners that include Sales and Operations, Software Product & Design, and our Deployment teams. You must be equal parts strategic oriented and execution oriented.

This role is a key part of our Marketing team and will report directly to the Head of Marketing. The SPAN Digital Experience Marketing Lead will need to be a master storyteller who can harness our brand’s product and user experience narrative, pull prospects in and showcase the delightful experience of our hardware and software, and then convert users who want to be SPAN customers effectively and delightfully.

You absolutely must be someone who is passionate about technology and wants to be a part of a company on a mission to accelerate renewable energy. This person will play a critical role in helping SPAN electrify as many homes as possible as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage website and eCommerce traffic and conversion including forecasting, reporting on marketing KPIs, and implementing both incremental and step-level changes to performance
  • Collaborate with creative team and agencies to create high engagement content including video, animation, and other formats that showcases the SPAN brand with the customer benefits at the forefront
  • Build a testing roadmap to continuously improve program performance and partner with the Software product, web developers, and Sales Ops & Analysis
  • Manage a referral program(s) that motivate our best customers to be our best ambassadors, incentivizes our partners like home contractors to share our products with more of their customers, and mechanizes creators to create more content for SPAN products and the SPAN brand
  • Own the Lifecycle Marketing roadmap and develop email, SMS, and in-app messaging marketing strategies to support acquisition and referral programs
  • Make data-driven decisions based on performance, conversion, customer behavior, and UX best practices to optimize storefront, web pages, owned journeys, and customer satisfaction
  • Build and present strategies for eCommerce, website, referral, and lifecycle marketing to key stakeholders and leadership

**About You **

Required Qualifications
We are seeking a Digital Experience Marketing Lead who has:

  • Passion for making an impact in CleanTech and seeing your work have a positive impact on accelerating sustainable energy
  • BA/BS degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in strategic marketing roles, with a focus on acquisition, loyalty & referral, and website/ecommerce marketing
  • Superior strategic and operational planning, time-management, and project management skills; including an ability to juggle many things at once in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, especially with C-level leadership
  • Creative messaging and design-oriented for creating website content and high usability digital interactions
  • Great interpersonal and relationship-building skills that allow you to successfully work cross-functionally and with a complex set of stakeholders

We would love to hire someone who has:

  • Lives in the San Francisco Bay area (hybrid work environment); only exceptional remote candidates who are willing to travel up to 30% will be considered
  • Previous examples of both creative and analytical work product that showcases how you’ve created acquisition or customer management experiences that are best-in-class
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Pardot, Webflow, Google Analytics, Mixpanel
  • A can-do, roll up the sleeves attitude where no task is too small and no challenge too big.
