Job Description:
Lilac is seeking an Electrical Engineer to work on ion exchange systems and other water processing technologies for lithium production. This person will be based in Oakland and will travel to project sites across the US, Europe, and South America to manage installations.
Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems for chemical process equipment and plants
- Support chemical engineers with process automation
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate electronic and pneumatic instruments, transmitters, analyzers, sensors, detectors, signal conditioners, recorders, controllers, final control elements and control system I/O
- Work with a wide variety of measurement instrumentation devices including pH, conductivity, flow, pressure, temperature, etc.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of control circuits and hardware (PLC)
- Measure, fabricate and install conduit, piping, and tubing, and perform basic electrical wiring, including protection devices and grounding circuits
- Other duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering
- Working knowledge of National Electric Code
- Proficient with electronic test instruments
- Knowledge of process controls fundamentals
- Knowledge and experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams
- Ability to create electrical and wiring drawings
- Knowledge and experience applying and interpreting results from common electrical measurement instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel & Word
- Excited to work on a small, fast-paced startup team
