Job Description
Lilac is seeking an Electrical Engineer with attention to detail that can design, develop, install, test and maintain electrical and controls systems to support Lilac's bead manufacturing operations. They should be able to make quality assurance checks in order to keep electrical standards high.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for chemical process and materials handling equipment and plants
- Develop automation solutions to meet specifications provided by process engineers
- Produce electrical drawings and documentation for electrical and control systems
- Design and specify power and controls wiring for manufacturing plants (i.e. wet environments, hazardous locations, etc.).
- Conduct safety and code compliance reviews
- Conduct energy audits, energy usage calculations, energy reduction programs, circuit analysis for critical equipment throughout the plant and specify circuit protection for voltage sag for critical equipment.
- Create and update internal electrical standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in electrical engineering with 10+ years of experience
- Experience with CAD, furnace equipment, conveyance, motor control, chemical equipment and controls design, wiring and commissioning
- In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering codes and requirements
- Highly organized with sharp attention to numerical detail
- Proven experience with 480-volt, 240-volt, tie switches, and PLC & Distributed Controls Systems
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection on a periodic basis
- Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
- Move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts
- Move long distances (across large warehouse floor)
- Can travel to sites across the Western US up to 75% of the time
