Responsibilities:

• Understand the scope of energy service programs and regulations across the U.S. by type, value, and status
• Identify active programs and assess viability of program entry and requirements and make internal recommendations for FreeWire’s strategy and market participation
• Consult with Product and Software team to develop program recommendations and best practices
• Represent FreeWire in proceedings, including program design forums, to advocate for preferred guidelines and policies
• Track and follow utility commission and grid operator proceedings to educate internal stakeholders on market direction and opportunity
• Assess partnership opportunities with other energy service providers
• Generate content for white papers, testimony, presentations
• Perform market and competitive analysis of energy service program participants
• Work closely with Regulatory team to develop regional engagement strategies, and mentor Policy Analysts to support outreach and career growth
• Collaborate and support content for marketing campaigns, including research on market trends and policies, to generate and promote industry thought leadership

Requirements:

• 5 + years of related experience in the energy service market or business development (experience with energy storage, EV charging or renewable generation a plus)
• Master’s degree and knowledge of the electrical grid and retail and wholesale electricity markets is preferred
• Track record of success in impacting policy outcomes
• Experience in managing multiple active engagements
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, capable of connecting and relating well to individuals at all levels of an organization, including the ability and confidence to present to Commissioners and other decision-makers
• A team player able to manage and collaborate with key departments across the company
• Ability to work in a (very) fast-moving environment and remain calm and mission focused
