ZeroAvia is a leader in zero-emission aviation, flying the world’s largest hydrogen-electric aircraft since September 2020. Our focus is the design and commercialization of hydrogen-powered aviation solutions to address a variety of markets, initially targeting short-haul, sub-regional commercial flights up to 500 miles. To date, ZeroAvia has secured the UK CAA and FAA experimental permit to fly for its 6 seat aircraft powered by hydrogen-electric powertrain, passed significant flight tests, and is on track for commercial deliveries by 2023. Its achievements to date were rewarded by the UK prime minister by inviting ZeroAvia as a member to the UK Jet Zero Council.

A senior role, reporting to VP infrastructure and responsible for all project delivery, cost and schedule control, and public fund recuperation. Working closely with the product delivery and funding teams, this role needs strong creative engineering skills, project management, and cost discipline in order to deliver multiple projects on budget and schedule. Project sizes may be small today but we expect them to grow in the next 12-24 months to highly complex multi-stakeholder projects that will eventually scale to multiple million-dollar investments. The role will cover US, UK, and EU opportunities initially

Skills

• Mastery of project management, with strong organizational, operational, and execution skills and the ability to work flexibly and with ambiguity across the design cycle
• Mastery in chemical, electrical or process, or other engineering disciplines that will allow support at concept design through to FEED levels, and support to detailed engineering requirements
• Ability to engage with the market, to build the market, and to develop technology partnerships with for example EPC’s, power companies, construction companies, etc
• Hands-on approach with the ability to build a team going forward
• Architect, Gardner, or Librarian archetypes welcome

Background

• Experience with background in engineering; science/engineering/economics degrees preferred; further qualifications a bonus
• Innovation, growth hacking project development experience within Energy, Hard Tech, O&G are all strong
• Capital project delivery a bonus
• Quantifiable Experience of delivery under pressure, range of roles spanning technology, commercial and corporate development roles is necessary
• Top tier companies/startups track record
• H2 and/or aviation experience is not necessary but a bonus
• Gas technology and/or power/energy market experience a bonus
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and visually necessary
• Mastery of process safety
