Manufacturing Technician- Battery 1st shift

Role Description

About the Role – You will:

  • Perform all receiving within the Oracle and the Mobile Device System and coordinates the parts
  • Build C sample battery packs and learn every element of battery production
  • Train next wave of Battery Production Associates to build D samples and Production level packs
  • Set up work instructions and quality points on battery production process
  • Set up tiered board to measure Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People Development
  • Setup work stations, and eliminate any safety issue or ergonomic issues
  • Work closely with Production and Design team to identify, support root cause, and eliminate all throughput and quality related issues
  • Be able to work in a team environment with a Can-do attitude
  • Able to carefully follow instructions to build quality in station

  • This position will be part of the Manufacturing team that supports Proterra’s Manufacturing and Engineering operations.
  • You will report to the Battery Production Supervisor and collaborate with other Manufacturing team members located at all 3 sites (Greenville, Los Angeles, and Burlingame)

    Your Experience Includes:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations.
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
  • Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.
  • Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.
  • Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.
  • Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.
  • Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.
  • Knowledge of the Proterra inventory database is a plus.
