Job Description

Lilac is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design and build lithium process equipment at pilot and commercial scales. This person will work closely with other mechanical and chemical engineers to optimize equipment design. Responsibilities will also include assisting with testing and operation of the equipment. This is a full-time position.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in mechanical engineering or similar
• 5+ years experience in mechanical design of chemical or water handling systems
• Experience with fabrication and hands-on problem solving
• Highly organized with sharp attention to numerical and scientific detail
• Excited to work on a small fast-paced startup team
• Proficient with AutoCAD or other 2D/3D modeling software
• US work permit
• Passion for innovation and sustainability

Preferred

• Experience with full development cycle for at least one product - design, build, commissioning, startup
• Experience leading design reviews and FMEAs
• Experience with commercial plant design and operations
• Professional accreditation such as Professional or Chartered Engineer
