BlocPower is a clean energy leader creating smarter, greener, healthier buildings for all by reducing the barriers to money-saving, quality-of-life-improving green building upgrade. We provide engineering, financing and project implementation services for our clients, with a special focus in historically left out communities across the country. These communities, and their buildings, are underserved by traditional energy services companies because they are considered too small, too costly, or too risky. Our portfolio of projects include houses of worship, schools, non-profits, small businesses and multifamily buildings. We are looking for an amazing Media Coordinator to join our marketing team to manage, prioritize and coordinate media opportunities.

This team member will serve as a first point of contact for inbound requests, responsible for efficiently and effectively “directing traffic,” helping us capitalize on timely and impactful opportunities to highlight our work while representing the organization in a highly professional manner

What You'll Do

- Field and respond to media inquiries and enable the right course of action based on internal priorities and resource constraints 
- Draft press releases, talking points and social media copy 
- Organize, update and maintain press kits and media materials
- Monitor media coverage and circulate internally when relevantCoordinate press activity including scheduling of calls, site visits and managing press events

Who You Are

- An early career media relations professional, writer, poised and diplomatic communicator
- You enjoy being in a deadline-centered, entrepreneurial environment
- Familiarity with the New York City and national media landscape
- BA/BS or equivalent combination of work experience and education preferably in degree/course work/experience in writing, communications and 2+ years of experience in an external communications or media coordinator role
