Job Description

Lilac is seeking a Millwright for installing, mounting and aligning pump, motors, actuators and other related rotating equipment using machine shop equipment and hand tools. Candidate will work closely with engineering and aid in design. Work primarily involves process skids and modules. Requires experience with industrial and construction equipment installations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Must work in full compliance with all approved safety regulations
• Use machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts
• Build the foundation for machines
• Build new industrial and construction machinery
• Align and mount equipment using specialized tools
• Review and follow technical and complex machinery manuals
• Collaborate with engineers and other crafts, workers, and engineers
• Install equipment such as shafting, pulleys and conveyors
• Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to determine work procedures
• Determine which machines, techniques, and tools to use
• Shim and torque as required for alignment
• Install vibration dampeners
• Lay out mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes

Job Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on millwright work
• Able to read engineering prints
• Experience with construction equipment and machinery
• Strong communication and computational skills
• Completion of an accredited millwright training program or equivalent OJT.

Preferred Skills, Training, and Qualifications

• Experience with process skids and modules
• Millwright apprenticeship program
• Millwright trade school graduate
• NCCER Millwright Certification
• Welding & brazing
• Pipe fitting or tube fitting, or plumbing experience
• Machining experience
• Experience with process skids and/or modules
• Experience with PVC piping
• Experience as a Millwright or similar role
