BLT is looking for a Naval Architecture intern for Summer 2022. This individual will be working on projects related to hull design, structure design, and weights modeling.
- Develop tools to analyze ship structure design based on DNV guidelines
- Design detailed 2D and 3D structure models for various vessels using aforementioned tools
- Develop detailed weight models for the ship
- Present on completed work to the engineering team
- Currently working towards a BS, MS, or other degree in Naval Architecture or other relevant engineering field.
- Ship structure design experience (preferably high-speed and/or hydrofoil)
- Experience using DNV or other regulatory body rulesets
- Experience using AutoCAD for 2D engineering drawing
- Experience using CAD software for engineering design (Siemens NX)
- Comfortable using Excel/Google Sheets
- Ability to work 40 hours/week in-person at BLT headquarters (Alameda, CA)
- Work towards building a better, zero carbon world
