Summary of Role

The Consumer Apps team’s goal is to engage and support consumers on their clean energy journey, whether the consumer started their journey to reduce their carbon footprint, increase energy resilience, or simply save money.

The focus of this Principal Product Manager role is to shape and manifest our online and mobile experiences so that they deliver measurable progress towards that goal, and become the gold standard of consumer experiences in the clean energy space and beyond. Overall, the mission of this role is to fundamentally change consumers’ relationship to energy.

Strategic & Tactical

  • Solar Digital Experience Strategy and Measurement: establish baseline measurements, targets, and a strategy to grow Solar Customer trust and loyalty.
  • Consumer/Stakeholder Understanding and Empathy: Understanding current and future Palmetto customers, help us shape our evolving picture of the customer, and successfully cultivate consumer empathy across the company. Develop and maintain a clear grasp of how other actors (Sales, Operations, Support, etc.) interact with end-users and their data.
  • Gold Standard Digital Consumer Experience: Create a variety of feedback loops to ensure this Experience is the bar by which other consumer-focused digital experiences are measured.
  • Value and Efficiency: continuously discover and iterate approaches to ensure customers are finding value and delight in our services and products at all points in their journey. Consistently work on improvements to the experience which also increase the efficiency of internal and external stakeholders such as Customer Support, Sales, Operations, and vendors.
  • Broadening Consumers' Climate Impact & Lifetime Value (LTV): Expand on the consumer market by integrating additional consumer offerings and extending the capabilities of the digital experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years in Product Management
  • Strong leadership skills rooted in high EQ, curiosity, and clear communication; ability to engage and drive alignment amongst senior leaders; can rally a cross-functional team toward demanding goals
  • Strong orientation toward and fluidity in human-centered design; ability to draw upon multiple frameworks, research techniques, data sources, learning tools, and engagement models to gain intuition and insight, and get things done; high degree of customer empathy; Excellent storytelling skills
  • Has built and led product functions within a technology organization; deep understanding and knowledge of UX, CX, and software development
  • Experienced problem solver accustomed to creating structure out of chaos; comfortable in fast-paced and rapidly changing organizations; able to build from zero to one, and then scale a team
  • Excellent project management skills; can manage dependencies across teams
  • Is regarded as a subject matter expert in their field
