Job Description

Lilac is seeking a chemical process engineer to work on ion exchange systems and other water processing technologies for lithium production. This person may travel to commission and operate plants across the US, South America, and Europe. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities will include designing, building, testing, and operating process equipment and systems at bench, pilot, and/or commercial scale. These entail, but are not limited to:

• Developing mass balances, PFD, and P&ID
• Fabricating small scale lithium extraction modules and associated components
• Performing rapid prototyping and testing to solve design challenges
• Operating and troubleshooting automated ion exchange skid systems
• Abiding Lilac safety regulations while performing lab work

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering
• Experience with hands-on lab work and/or fabrication
• Extensive R&D experience preferred
• Highly organized with sharp attention to numerical and scientific detail
• Passion for industrial chemistry and sustainable mining
• Strong desire to learn, innovate, and implement creative solutions
• Excited to work on a small fast-paced startup team with a drive to succeed and grow with the company
