Role Description

Running Tide is an ocean technology company built to tackle humanity's most urgent challenge: climate change. We build cutting-edge solutions that integrate engineered and biological systems to remove CO2 from the atmosphere, restore ecosystems, and secure food systems. Our multidisciplinary team of world-class scientists, engineers, and maritime operators is working as fast as possible while the world is burning.

We are adding additional operational positions and are looking for world class talent. This is someone who can help plan, coordinate, and execute operational and engineering efforts in a dynamic work environment with unique challenges. This person has extensive experience with project planning, process development, physical systems/infrastructure, and hands-on problem solving. This person also excels at working cross-functionally and is attracted to challenges that are demanding both physically and mentally. International travel is expected of this position, and will likely require approximately 25% of the employee’s time to be out of the country with peak demand for international travel likely occurring from May through September.

The Current Operations Team is focused on developing, establishing, and operating systems that remove carbon at an unprecedented scale. We are pursuing multiple removal pathways that work together cohesively, and tap into natural processes.

You Will:

- Work within the Carbon Removal Current Operations Team, driving execution of formulated plans and constantly adapting to an evolving situation so that emerging challenges can be met with aggression.
- Develop near and long-term operational plans in a collaborative manner, working towards established goals, objectives, and metrics associated with carbon removal.
- Accurately report lessons learned, operational improvement opportunities, production data, and carbon accounting data to feed into future plans, always in pursuit of company-level goals.
- Develop operational protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices for production systems and an operational approach that are both expected to constantly evolve over a multi-year timeline.
- Periodically work at multiple international locations as part of a rotation, and support those international operations from the U.S. when not traveling.
- Constantly transition between office-style work and hands-on work that includes preparing, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, improving, and maintaining various mechanical, electronic, and electrical systems.

You Are (or You Have):

- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to seamlessly transition between independent and collaborative work
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Highly flexible and excited to work in an extremely dynamic operating environment

Our teams operate with utmost persistence. We are tackling the world’s most difficult and important problems, and we are unwavering in our motivation to find a solution. At our core, we are innovators driven to do "more good" rather than "less bad" in the world.

Running Tide is committed to building a diverse team, bringing as many possible perspectives to bear on the unprecedented challenges facing our planet. We are committed to building an inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds can come to do their best work.

All offers of employment at Running Tide are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.
