As data centers consume an exponentially growing power footprint to deliver technology to all connected devices, we are inspired by making sure that the energy meeting that demand is sourced in an environmentally responsible fashion. Crusoe co-locates mobile data centers with stranded energy resources, like flare gas and underloaded renewables, to deliver low-cost, carbon-negative distributed computing solutions. Crusoe Cloud is a managed cloud services platform powered by stranded energy that enables climate-friendly innovation in computationally intensive fields including artificial intelligence, graphics rendering and computational biology.

We are currently seeking a graduate-level Public Engagement and ESG Summer Intern to support Crusoe’s VP of Public Engagement & ESG and Head of Sustainability. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a number of exciting policy, communications, and ESG initiatives. The role will involve cross-functional collaboration with teams across the company. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with a high degree of organization and creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Public Engagement and ESG team with policy, communications, and ESG research, projects, and deliverables
  • Conduct research on ESG industry trends and frameworks to provide recommendations on the development of an ESG report in accordance with commonly adopted standards (GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, IFRS, etc.)
  • Help with drafting articles, presentations and other content for internal and external audiences to communicate Crusoe’s carbon reducing business model and impacts
  • Monitor and track methane, renewable energy, bitcoin, blockchain, and other related policies, regulations, and industry developments
  • Support carbon accounting and emissions calculations
  • Participate in the development of emerging standards and methodologies in areas like green bitcoins and carbon credits for waste methane gas

Requirements

  • Preference for candidates pursuing graduate degree(s) in a related field such as sustainability management, environmental science, clean energy, business, communications, or public policy. Potential opportunity for this to continue into the school year and become a full-time role following graduation
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Fast learner with strong analytical and creative mindset
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint and writing skills
  • Ability to adapt and navigate in ambiguous or fast-changing business situations

  • Start date: ideally mid-June but flexible
