WHO WE NEED 📖

**What you’ll bring to the team: **

• Expertise designing, operating, and maintaining scalable production services and distributed systems
• Strong proficiency with Golang, Python, Terraform, Kubernetes and Airflow
• Working knowledge of GCP, specifically PubSub, Cloud Run and BigQuery
• Experience designing and developing API-driven applications
• Familiarity with any of these is a plus: SQL/query optimization, Django, and geospatial data
• You’ll be partnering with the CTO on recruiting and people ops to hire and manage technical staff
• A strong passion for fostering a collaborative culture that embodies empathy and communication
• Ability to mentor and develop a diverse team of engineers helping them identify opportunities to learn and grow
• Experience leading engineering work products in remote and distributed environments
• You’ll bring your expertise leading engineering efforts to serve climate data at scale across a broad range of customers

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING ✍️

The impact you’ll have:

• Drive technical decision making to influence the core architecture and implementation across our data ingestion, processing and serving pipeline
• Engage directly with early adopters who are API first customers to enable climate data insights across the market segments we serve
• Foster strong relationships with the developer community through open source projects, tools, documentation, etc
• You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of critical new features on our API and dashboard products serving our growing base of customers
• Act as a thought partner and lead on platform engineering, understand the challenges, and make opinionated recommendations to efficiently scale our infrastructure and tools
• Address complex data engineering requirements, such as data quality, integrity, provenance, access controls, auditing, and governance
• Leverage your experience to manage projects cross functionally in partnership with multiple stakeholders (customer success, growth, product management, and climate science)
• Lead, mentor, and grow an incredible team of engineers who have high expectations around craft, ownership and impact to develop new product capabilities
• Identify areas of improvement and streamline our releases and continuous integration processes
• Improve our testing capabilities through various frameworks, tooling, and processes
