Role Description

Sentient Energy, a Koch subsidiary company, is currently hiring for a Senior Product Manager – Analytics. As a member of the Sentient Energy product team you will be the owner of our next generation advanced analytic applications. You will work with major electric utilities to solve real world problems like vegetation incursion into power lines, broken equipment detection, and many more. This is a cross-functional role – you will be acting as both a software product and project manager for several initiatives, while interfacing with our engineering and sales teams. This role can be located in either our Milpitas, CA or Frisco, TX offices.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Own the creation, delivery, and success of the company’s software analytic products and solutions
  • Work closely with customers and sales to understand needs and preferences; with engineering to define and deliver products and solutions to excite end users; and with top management to determine product and solution strategy to meet and exceed the company’s strategic objectives
  • Develop and maintain competitive benchmarking
  • Evaluate third party companies and solutions and drive build/buy/partner decisions
  • Develop product & solution marketing material, brochures, launches, ppt’s, whitepapers, webinars
  • Work with customers to manage beta tests and final delivery
  • Help leading utilities serve communities better and safer while saving power, cost, resources, and lives
  • Reports to Vice President, Product Management and Marketing

The Experience You Will Bring

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience building/shipping technical products
  • Experience as a Product Manager at a tech company or fast-growing startup
  • Experience writing product requirement documents based on market analysis and customer feedback
  • Experience creating strategic roadmaps, working with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Sales, Finance)
  • Demonstrable experience with product positioning and messaging, full product lifecycle management, pricing strategies, and business plan creation
  • Skilled in translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and vice-versa; strong public speaking and presentation skills

What Will Put You Ahead

  • MBA
  • Passion for great people and engineers, and ability to lead strong teams to accomplish ambitious goals
  • Familiarity with a design tool such as Sketch or Balsamiq
  • Familiarity with data science and/or machine learning concepts
  • Technical understanding of overall electric utility operations systems, including electric power systems, distribution automation, distributed control systems and communications
