The Global NPI Director will be based in Newark, CA, reporting to the COO. In this position, you will lead technical supplier engagement and coordination with cross functional departments. The NPI Director will work closely with engineering, supply chain, and other key stakeholders to successfully launch products.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with manufacturing partners (OEM and CM) for product development and qualification activities to support smooth product launches.
• Coordinate activities required to eliminate risk and deliver projects on time.
• Provide recommendations based on product development expertise with focus guided by balancing quality, speed to market and cost reduction.
• Work with manufacturers on technology roadmaps to support ongoing product innovation initiatives.
• Identify potential risks and failures and initiate appropriate steps including corrective actions to ensure the program’s successful outcome
• Lead/support feasibility studies and estimates, quotes for purchasing capital equipment and tooling for new programs or modifications to existing programs to budget.
• Thrive working in a fast paced, startup environment.

Requirements

• Strong technical experience in steel manufacturing (roll forming, stamping, casting).
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with proven management experience
• Product development and launch experience
• Knowledge of prototype integration and testing
• Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management
• Experience in working in international teams and with customers
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent experience
