The Role

Program Management is critical to SPAN’s expeditious development and deployment of electrification technologies, and is an integral part of the design engineering team. We are looking for a passionate program management leader with experience working with both hardware and software teams. You will lead a team of program managers who will be involved from ideation to market release, responsible for executing program goals through cross-functional planning, facilitating, and reporting. You will partner with multiple technology teams, product management team, the deployment team, and sales. You will develop, continuously improve, and execute a program management process and keep information continuously flowing throughout the company. This will involve allocating work, highlighting resource needs, finding efficiency improvements, and communicating with leadership across the organization.

In this role, you will:

• Develop a holistic view of all SPAN programs including, but not limited to hardware, software, and research, manufacturing, and go to market initiatives.
• Build, support, and grow a team of program managers that can support SPAN's technology and product initiatives.
• Define and drive the schedule for upcoming new project launches, new technology development milestones, and sustaining programs.
• Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams across Software(mobile, cloud, device software), Hardware(mechanical & electrical), Systems, Manufacturing, Product, Design, Quality, along with Deployment, Sales, and Service.
• Constantly work to evolve our processes and program management strategy for increasing precision and dependability.
• Remove uncertainty and proactively address risks in program execution through collaborative planning, identifying resource and process gaps, and prioritizing long lead time or key risks.
• Collect and disseminate information upwards to leadership, horizontally to peers, and broadly to entire company.

About You

Required Qualifications
We are seeking a engineering program manager who has:

• 7+ years of experience in technical program management
• 2+ years leading a team of direct reports
• Experience building, developing and managing highly effective program management tools and processes.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High level of comfort with ambiguity and fast-pace environments.
• Well-organized with meticulous attention to detail.

Bonus Qualifications
We would love to hire someone who has:

• Prior experience in smart home, IoT, renewable energy (solar and battery energy storage), or complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proven ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and recommendations.
• Experience transitioning products from prototype to production at scale.
• JIRA, Confluence, Atlassian experience.
• Experience with hardware products involving firmware and embedded software.
• Degree in an engineering disciple or similar technical background.
