Allume has developed a world-first product, the SolShare, to allow a single solar system to be shared by multiple units in the same building. Position
Allume Energy is looking for an experienced Technical Sales Consultant to join our commercial team.
This role will involve the full spectrum of technical sales support, from account management of our installation partner network to providing technical advice on sales. As a B2B company, our direct customers are solar installers, however, your role will be to support sales conversations with all our target market segments, including property developments and existing apartment buildings. Working closely with our sales team, you will be responsible for supporting sales to support Allume’s commercial targets in Australia.
This is a crucial role within the organisation and requires a self-motived, highly driven individual whose results will have a direct impact on making a positive change to the world. This role is preferably based in Melbourne, but under the right circumstances, candidates located outside of Victoria will be considered.
Role & Responsibilities
- Account management of our Australian SolShare installation partner network
- Identify and onboard new SolShare installation partners as and when required
- Inform installer network of product and regulatory updates
- Provide SolShare system, SLD design guidance and pre-installation guidance
- Maintain customer records in the company CRM system
- Support development and updates to technical documentation/advisory guides
- Support development and updates to SolShare training modules
- Support the development of strategic OEM partnerships (batteries, inverters, smart devices etc.)
- Gather product market fit feedback to provide insights for technical developments
- Gather customer feedback and market insights to aid commercial direction
- Knowledge share with the wider sales team to stimulate growth, learning, and development
- Contribute to Allume’s commercial and strategic plan
- Keep abreast of state and national regulatory guidelines
- Develop close communication with the sales and technical teams to ensure commercial and technical paths are aligned
- Act as an external advocate of the brand
- Attend industry and strategic stakeholder events and networking opportunities as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of technical sales experience, or in a technical support or sales support role in a similar industry
- Experience working to sales targets or quotas
- Ability to identify, secure and manage new channel partners
- Account management experience
- An understanding of post-sales technical support for new products
- Basic understanding of sales process for both inbound/outbound leads
- Professional and customer-focused engagement style
- Ability to translate advanced technical product specifications and benefits to customers
- Ability to identify and convert new accounts while maintaining existing relationships
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly gauge the level of technical understanding in customer interactions and effectively influence diverse audiences
- Comfortable working autonomously
- Resilience and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-moving and ever-changing environment whilst continuing to deliver high-performance outcomes
- A strong desire to learn and build a career in the renewable energy industry
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent industry experience as an electrician, system designer, etc.
- Experience working at a solar installation company, or with solar installers, or understanding of the solar installation process
- Experience working with network protection systems (NPUs), battery systems or other peripheral systems that are relevant to SolShare installations
- Experience drawing single line diagrams (SLDs) in AutoCAD Electrical or similar
- Experience in the renewable energy industry
- Understanding of the energy market
Bonus
- Experience in solar hardware sales
- Experience working with emerging technologies
- Experience in DNSP applications/approvals (ideally for solar systems >30kW), and any contacts within the DNSP organisations
- Good proficiency with CRM software
- Experience working for an international organization
