We are looking for an experienced Business Development professional to lead the expansion of UtilityAPI’s business. The right candidate will bring a strong network and knowledge of the clean energy transition, leveraging those skills to develop partnerships with utilities, innovative climate tech companies and other stakeholders to lead the adoption of our industry leading data access tools. You must understand the rapid innovations that are taking place in our industry and be equipped to create and execute strategies to cement our position as key data infrastructure for the energy transition. This is a highly strategic role that involves working with both entrenched incumbents and the newest, most innovative thinkers in our space. What You'll Do

• Leverage your network and market knowledge to create partnerships
• Create and implement strategies for entering and expanding markets
• Build and maintain relationships with energy utilities, climate tech companies, and other stakeholders
• Originate deal flow for our sales team
• Educate new markets and work with our marketing team to lead thought leadership
• Work with our software and product teams to incorporate market intelligence
• Engage with our policy and regulatory staff to align messages and leverage opportunities
• Reports directly to the CEO

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing BD strategies in climate tech or utilities
• Strong network in the energy sector
• Be comfortable working with a remote team
• Ability to communicate effectively over email
• Have good judgment and be able to use it
• Be trustworthy and able to both work independently and to take direction

Compensation

• Salary is in the range of $125-200k depending on experience and location
