What we are looking for

Stem’s Global Compensation Manager is responsible for designing and maintaining the compensation strategy and structure that will attract and retain employees, while meeting compliance and budgetary needs.

This Compensation role scope is inclusive of company-wide base pay, bonus and equity programs and requires a detail-oriented/analytical builder. This is an exciting time at Stem with the successful IPO in 2021, acquisition of AlsoEnergy in 2022 and the ongoing company growth/expansion. Stem is seeking a self-started, motivated to be our Compensation strategy owner and implementor as part of the overall HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement compensation base pay and incentive programs inclusive of salaried, sales and hourly populations globally.
  • Lead the Executive Compensation strategy and programs implementations with the Board/Compensation Committee.
  • Lead the annual sales compensation plan review and future year recommendations.
  • Ensure pay is externally competitive, internally equitable, and legally compliant.
  • Operationalize and maintain our company wide Job architecture (salary structure, salary grades, and market rates for specific jobs or functional areas).
  • Manage the annual merit, bonus and RSU process, design and/or maintain model, recommend necessary changes to the senior leadership team.
  • Oversee annual compensation survey participation, benchmarking process, and data analysis.
  • Research best compensation practices in the market.

Required Experience

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mathematics, Human Resources or related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in a compensation leadership capacity, building compensation programs, bonus and commission programs for a diverse population and levels.

Desired Skills

  • 2+ years of in-house equity plan support experience
  • 5+ years’ experience sales compensation experience.
  • Detail oriented/analytical skillset.
  • Cross-functional experience working with Legal, Payroll, Finance, HR, Accounting and Audit.
  • Mergers & Acquisition experience.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll tools; Workday, Saleforce.com, etc.
  • Public company experience in a hi-tech company – preferred.
  • Global Compensation experience is a plus.

Location
San Francisco Bay Area.
This could be an office based or Flex (hybrid office/remote) role
