Heliogen is looking for a Senior People Operations Generalist who specializes in Learning and Development. The Senior People Operations Generalist will have vast HR knowledge and strong business acumen with the ability to achieve results within a dynamic organization. The Senior People Operations Generalist is driven by the design and implementation of learning & development and performance management programs with significant experience in creating and implementing such programs while collaborating with multiple stakeholders to fulfill needs across teams.

This position is hybrid with 3 days required in our Pasadena office.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the People Operations team to identify and drive improvement opportunities
  • Create, generate, analyze, and maintain effective People Ops reporting, including turnover, headcount, and other key HR metrics to drive organizational effectiveness
  • Manage the resolution of complex employee relations issues, leading/assisting in the investigation of employee complaints, and partnering with legal counsel when needed
  • Advice and counsel management regarding appropriate disciplinary actions to create consistency and ensure minimal legal risk
  • Partner with the People Operation leadership to create SOPs for People Ops processes and programs while managing multiple People Ops projects at one time
  • Stay abreast of the latest HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency
  • Manage and drive training programs which includes planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs
  • Develop proposals and formal recommendations on learning content and implementation
  • Create reports and analyses of all L&D efforts which can include learning program surveys and feedback
  • Support People Ops leadership in driving program effectiveness by measuring and analyzing trainee performance, identifying program inconsistencies and deficiencies
  • Create organizational goals to align training initiatives to support and drive high performance

What's Essential:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of HR functions and best practices including but not limited to employment law
  • Knowledge of employment law and human resources responsibilities
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to combine an analytical mindset, creativity, and an entrepreneurial drive to assist in identifying opportunities, developing solutions, and implementing them effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), organization, and time management skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant Human Resource experience
  • 7-10 years as an HR Generalist with 3 of those years in Learning and Development
  • 3+ years of experience as an HR administrator or related position

Desirable Experience:

  • Human Resources Certification (SPHR/PHR SHRM-SCP/CP)
