Reporting to the CEO, the HR and Payroll Manager is responsible for delivering strategic HR support across all people processes including: talent development, performance management, employee engagement, compensation planning, and organizational design. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to become a trusted partner and advisor for leaders and team members, bringing a passion for strategic thinking and delivering practical, results-oriented solutions.

The role is based onsite in Los Angeles, CA.
- Develop HR frameworks and tools, ensuring that these meet business needs, align with internal programs and practices, and comply with external requirements.
- Ensure that the organization manages its employment programs within a clear framework that embodies corporate values and policies, while also complying with all legal requirements.
- Promote knowledge, understanding, and compliance with regards to company policy and relevant employment laws through coaching, presentations, and training.
- Respond to employee inquiries, questions, and complaints, and provide information, guidance and direction on employee relations issues, performance management, and other core HR functions.
- Facilitate internal transfers, oversee and facilitate promotion opportunities, conduct exit interviews, and identify trends to support retention, career development, and to minimize risk for the business.
- Assist with the creation, documentation, and implementation of human resources policies, programs, and processes.
- Uphold standards of strict confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents.
- Coach line managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and culture.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on special projects regarding our Careers website, Employee Referral programs, and Onboarding.
- Manage payroll, ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of full cycle payroll functions
- BS/BA Degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Management, or related field or a combination of relevant experience, education, and training.
- 7+ years of experience in a human resources capacity
- 2+ years of experience delivering company-wide HR training
- Advanced degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Management, Education or similar.
- Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing HR programs, including policy design and development.
- Change agent with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, able to energize and motivate both direct and indirect organizations through thought leadership, energy, commitment, and force of will.
