About the Role – You will:
- Lead the overall DEI Strategy for the organization and advance the work of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committees.
- Oversee all aspects of University Relations, including Proterra’s internship & Co-Op program.
- Direct the needs assessment for training and staff development to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the company.
- Manage specific performance improvement initiatives, such as 360-degrees feedback process.
- Design and develop HR training programs for management and employees.
- Identify and incorporate best practices and lessons learned into programs, including Leadership Development Programs, Career Pathing, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Individual Development Planning and Mentoring and Coaching programs.
- Develop learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides and lesson plans.
- Develop in consultation with Proterra’s leadership, a learning and development strategy for the organization, including implementing a formal Learning Management System.
- Establish and manage formal apprenticeship programs for manufacturing employees.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Technical Trainers on establishing consistent manufacturing training program across all sites.
- Manage Proterra’s Performance Management Program to create a sustainable and fair approach to managing employee performance.

- You will report to the VP of HR and collaborate with other HR team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and other manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, CA.

Your Experience Includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Organizational Development or related field. MS preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of training experience and at least 5 years of management experience.
- Experience designing and implementing effective training and development programs.
- Experience implementing Learning Management System and Performance Management Systems throughout an organization.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential, preferred
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment
- Experience concisely presenting complex materials to senior executives to drive effective decision making
- Possesses strong attention to detail
- Personable and thrives in a collaborative environment
