BACKGROUND
At Tomorrow Farms, we’re reinventing our favorite foods so they're better for people, kinder to animals, and easier on the planet. We see ourselves as the "front end" of the future of food, harnessing the most exciting and innovative food technologies to build unforgettable brands and irresistible products. We're working towards a more equitable and harmonious food system, and ultimately envision a future where animal-based products have become obsolete.
Our first product, which will be announced in just a few weeks, is a complete game-changer for the sustainable food space.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a thoughtful, creative, and strategic Director of People & Culture to build and scale our employee experience and HR functions. As a trusted advisor to the leadership team, you will strategically design and manage an empathetic, inclusive, equitable and diverse end-to-end experience; a comprehensive roadmap for people and culture that touches every point of the candidate and employee experience: hiring, onboarding, developing, retaining, and offboarding talent, ensuring that all of our practices are aligned with our values.
A community leader, and relationship builder at heart, you are an effective prioritizer with high emotional intelligence. You hold integrity as a core value; your personal and professional commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion informs every decision that you make.
Reporting to our CEO, and working closely with our Director of Strategic Operations, you will design and implement an employee-centric engagement strategy to foster a nurturing and high-performing organization. You'll think outside the box about how we can modernize human resources in a way that is unique to Tomorrow Farms. You will play an integral role in helping us build a unique hybrid-remote model that is optimized specifically for our people and organization.

- Design compelling pre-onboarding and onboarding materials (outlining current benefits, welcome emails, etc).
- Support hiring managers with end-to-end hiring processes; help screen top candidates, facilitate negotiations, and design a thoughtful transition from applicant to employee experience.
- Design and execute employee engagement initiatives and policies with leadership + manager priorities and challenges in mind.
- In collaboration with our executive leadership team, define and execute People Operations & HR related KPIs that meet business goals and objectives.
- Design and manage all documentation, including SOPs, employee handbook and HR policies.
- Establish mandatory manager training programs.
- Propose + implement equitable company-wide performance evaluation.
- Design job architectures and guidelines to provide our team with clear intentions around titles, expectations around compensation policies and reviews (merit-based and otherwise), benchmarking, and promotion plans.
- Lead the effort on equal pay analysis; work with leadership (and external consultants, as needed) to ensure compensation equality (for new hires + raises / promotions) across the organization.
- Manage the administration of compensation updates, benefits, PTO, leaves of absence, etc.
- Strategically design a unique organization chart, and update it as our team evolves and scales.
Employee Engagement & Workplace Experience
- Serve as a point of contact for all employees; create and moderate safe spaces for honest and effective conversations related to employee morale, manager/direct report and peer relationships, DEIB.
- Continuously seek learning opportunities for our team; produce communication plans, processes, policies, and digital + IRL programs that instill curiosity and a strong sense of belonging + community.
- Coordinate team culture building events; dinners, off-sites, etc.
- Think outside the box when it comes to employee benefits & perks; consider employee feedback and evolve our benefits package based on scalable strategies.
- Define objective measures and develop standardized reporting that provides the leadership team with data + insights to understand employee trends.
- Work with hiring managers to define each role + develop job description (engage external recruiters as needed), design promotional pathways within their team, and create a system for succession planning.
- Architect a workplace environment that is rooted in thoughtfulness and kindness and creates cross-functional organizational trust and transparency.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
- Partner with our leadership team to develop and strengthen our DEI principles, practices and policies into plans, programs and strategy related to hiring and performance management, employee engagement, career paths, leveling and compensation bands, development, and retention.
- Translate strategies into tactical plans; define clear actions, accountability and goals to develop our DEIB program.
- Develop opportunities to educate team members at all levels on how to recognize, accommodate, and appreciate individual differences; serve as a change agent to provide solutions, resources, and training and awareness programs that promote and amplify our DEIB philosophy.
